چکیده

The ‘‘wet gel’’ model used earlier to describe the results of dynamic light scattering studies of neat poly~ethylene oxide! ~PEO! melts has now been successfully applied to PEO-melt/LiClO4 solutions. The results of static light scattering and viscometry measurements along with measurements from dynamic light scattering revealed that with or without salt, the melt/gel was an overdamped system whose network diffusive relaxations were controlled by the damping liquid component of the gel. Important features of the melt/gel were significantly affected by the addition of LiClO4 . Examples of important changes included increases in the network mesh size even as ‘‘petrification’’ of the network by the salt rendered it less elastic. Nevertheless, for 1 K PEO melts the essential nature of the melt/gel remained uneffected. © 2002 American Institute of Physics. @DOI: 10.1063/1.1481059#

An investigation of a sol-gelÕmelt transition: The poly„ethylene oxide...ÕmethanolÕLiClO4 system

The crossover behavior of 50 000 molar mass poly~ethylene oxide!/methanol solutions from dilute solution to the melt/gel was examined. At first this behavior was investigated without LiClO4 and then reexamined with LiClO4 . To better understand this behavior, the dependencies of dynamic light scattering ~specifically, photon correlation spectroscopy! measurement results on polymer concentration...

The role of polymer melt viscoelastic network behavior in lithium ion transport for PEO meltrLiClO SPEs: the ‘‘wet gel’’ model

Ž . Ž . Earlier light scattering studies revealed that melts of the electrolyte polymer poly ethylene oxide PEO were not homogeneous but were instead structured and behaved as elastic PEO networks. We report the results of subsequent viscometry measurements that provide a more complete picture of PEO melt structure and dynamic behavior. We find that PEO melts behave as ‘‘wet gels,’’ i.e., they ...

Effect of Ethylene Oxide Functional Groups in PEBA-CNT Membranes on CO2/CH4 Mixed Gas Separation

Poly (ether-block-amide) /poly (ethylene glycol)/ carbon nanotubes mixed matrix membranes have been successfully fabricated using solvent evaporation method to determine the effect of ethylene oxide groups on the performance of produced membranes. The effects of CNTs (2-8 wt%) and PEG (up to 50 wt%)were investigated in both single and mixed gas test setup in different temperature and pressure. ...

The effect of supply network configuration on occurring chaotic behavior in the retailer’s inventory

ToToday’s market place is increasingly dynamic and volatile. In this area supply network issues recently have attracted a lot of attention from industrial practitioners and academics worldwide. Chaos theory is the study of complex, nonlinear, dynamic systems. For chaotic systems, a tiny change in conditions may result in an enormous change in system output, whereas substantial changes in condit...
